Nils Hartmann was born in Hannover in 1967. He grew up in Milan, lived in Rome, London and Cairo, and he fluently speaks German, Italian and English. He has been working for 25 years in Television Production and received his masters degreeat the London International Film School. He started as Promo Producer at Orbit Network Rome, and launched the movie channel Studio Universal as Creative Manager. In 2003 he launched SKY ITALIA in the role of Creative Director. He then moved into the position of Director of Original Productions and produced successful international TV series such as: Romanzo Criminale, Gomorra,1992, The Young Pope with Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino and Il Miracolo directed and created by bestselling writer Niccolò Ammaniti.
He is currently in postproduction with ZeroZeroZero, by Stefano Sollima, the showrunner and director of Gomorra; Diavoli, directed by Nick Hurran and starring Patrick Dempsey; the sequel The New Pope with Jude Law and John Malkovich; and is also in production with Romulus, an epic tale of the origin of Rome. In addition, he currently has over 35 projects in development.
Hartmann is also Executive Producer of X Factor, Masterchef Italia and Italia’s Got Talent.
