Lorenzo Mieli was born in Rome in 1973. He founded Wilder in 2009, and Wildside in 2009 with Mario Gianani. The company combines Gianani’s Offside film experience with Mieli’s Wilder television expertise, and in a few years it has become an international key player, producing, among others, films by Bernardo Bertolucci, Marco Bellocchio, and Saverio Costanzo, but also TV series of great success, such as The New Pope and The Young Pope by Paolo Sorrentino, Il Miracolo by Niccolò Ammaniti, My Brilliant Friend by Saverio Costanzo, In Treatment 1, 2 e 3, 1992, 1993 e 1994, the first and second season of The Mafia Kills Only in Summer. Since April 2010, Mieli has been Managing Director of Fremantle, a leading production company of television programs, including XFactor and Italia’s Got Talent, and scripted titles, such as Un posto al sole and the first and second season of Non Uccidere.
