Group COO | Fremantle
Based in London, Andrea has been a member of Fremantle’s board since 2018, and he is responsible for many of the group’s key activities, including Strategy, M&A, Legal and Business, Marketing and Communications.
Andrea is Chairman of the Fremantle Global Drama Board. The following territories report directly to him: Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico, Israel, plus the scripted labels Euston Films (UK) Castlefield (UK), Hare&Tortoise (UK), Miso (Danimarca), Wildside (Italia), Abot Hameiri (Israel). Andrea is board president at Kwai and Fontaram in France, and board member at Easy Tiger (Australia).
From 2010 to 2018 he has been EVP Programming for Sky Italy. In this role, he was responsible for all Sky Italy’s programming except sports, coordinating a team of more than 500 people. SkyTg24, free-to-air channels TV8 and Cielo and all the original productions from Sky Italia (scripted and unscripted) also reported to him.
Under his leadership, Sky Italy became the first platform to bring behind the paywall shows such as XFactor and Masterchef, both great achievements in terms of audience and revenues. Andrea has commissioned series that have marked the television market, such as Gomorrah and The Young Pope. Under his leadership, from 2013 to 2018, Sky Uno’s audience has grown beyond 72%, while TV8 had a growth of 180% (triplicating advertising revenue and going from being the 14th Italian channel to 7th in the commercial target 15/54).
Since 2017, Andrea Scrosati has been President of Vision Distribution, a company he ideated and created as the first independent cinema distribution company born from the union of a Pay platform (Sky Italia, 60% of the capital) and 5 independent production companies (40% of the capital). During his first year of activity, Vision positioned itself as the second Italian operator in terms of revenues, and has co-produced and distributed the first Italian film for box office revenues, closing deals for TV rights with Sky, Mediaset and TIMVision.
From 2007 to 2010. while Andrea Scrosati served as EVP Corporate Communications at Sky Italy, the departments for external and internal communications, on-air promos and public affairs all reported to him.
From 1997 to 2007, he was CEO of MN, a company he founded in 1997. Andrea created the Communication agency with a partner, and it became a leading company in the media sector. His clients ranked from the most important Italian TV talents to cinema, music and entertainment events. MN has also worked with some of the main Italian companies, and for world personalities such as the Dalai Lama.
Between 1994 and 1997 he was Marketing Director at Network Productions, one of the main Italian independent television production companies, focusing on the development of new content and on the relationships with sponsors and commercial partners.
In 2018 and 2019, Andrea was named one of the 500 most influential people in the world for the global entertainment sector by “Variety”. He is board member of Teach for Italy, Italian branch of the global network Teach For All.
